I love creativity! I believe that every person holds an individual perspective on the world and deserves encouragement to share their unique ideas. Incorporating creativity into the classroom is a continuous goal of mine. I approach different ways of learning through creative instructional plans and I provide engaging, meaningful assignments that allow students to showcase their creativity. I welcome mistakes in my classroom. I believe making mistakes is a fundamental part of the learning process. Furthermore, when a mistake is made everyone learns from it. Mistakes provide an opportunity to step back and reflect upon a problem, evaluate the thought process behind an error, and discuss finding a new solution. My classroom is always a safe place where students can learn from one another.
Mutual respect is a nonnegotiable inside my classroom. I believe everyone is deserving of a healthy learning environment. While coming to school is a requirement, being inside the classroom is a privilege. My students are encouraged set high goals for themselves and others. I achieve this through creating a classroom culture that allows every student to be heard, promotes healthy debate, and pushes for understanding.
